Saint Therese of Lisieux was a French Carmelite nun who is a doctor of the church, venerated as an example of holiness. She lived a pious life, doing small acts of charity for others.
Also known as “The Little Flower of Jesus”, or simply “The Little Flower”, Saint Teresa became a nun at the age of 15 in the Carmelite community of Lisieux, Normandy, France.
She is loved and admired for her devotion and her straightforward and practical views of the spiritual life. Saint Teresita died at age 24 of tuberculosis.
